Frequently asked questions

10 of our most common FAQ’s about the winery (in no particular order…)

1. When are you open?

A: For 2023, we are open from 11:30-5:30 Wednesdays to Sundays, with two main meal sittings. Booking online is essential as we have limited seats here.

The kitchen is open from 12.00-4.00pm those days we are open, and we are available to provide tastings during these hours also. We are also open some nights, and extended hours for particular events. Keep up to date through our our newsletter or via our socials.

Please also note, the winery is sometimes closed for private functions and you’ll be unable to book online as a result of this and changes to our hours.

2. Do I have to make a booking?

A: If you want to guarantee a table, bookings are essential. If we happen to be fully booked, there’s over 5 acres of lawn, so feel free to bring a picnic blanket (or we have a few by the front door) or your deck chairs and make yourself at home. If you are intent on making a booking, please let us know your preferred day / date, time of arrival, number of guests and any other information you might think relevant.

3. Can I book a specific table?

A: While we try our best to accommodate your requests, there will be times that due to a myriad of other factors we are unable to give you exactly the table you have requested. In these instances, we ask that you appreciate that we have tried our best, and that these struggles we face are first world problems; every seat at Phillip Island Winery is in a great spot – just some are better than others!

4. Can I bring my dog?

A: Absolutely! We even have a ‘four-legged kids’ menu. We do ask that you clean up after your dog, and if he or she does not play well with other dogs you keep them restrained at all times. Obviously all of our doggy friendly tables are located in an outdoor area so please come prepared.

5. Are you wheelchair friendly?

A: We don’t have wheelchair access as such, but there is access into all areas with a little guidance from staff. This may require use of the grass area and the side door rather than the front door, but once you are there you’ll appreciate the detour isn’t all that bad. Please let the staff or management know if you require any assistance – we’re here to help. We also have an ambulant toilet with easy access to the restaurant. We also allocate our closest two carparks for our customers in wheelchairs.

6. Can I BYO food and drink?

A: As we have a bar stocked full of delicious drinks and a fully operational kitchen, both from which we make our living, we ask that you refrain from bringing any food and drink onto the premises at any time.

7. Do you only serve wine?

A: Nope. In addition to our delicious wines, we also have a range of beer (including some local treasures), spirits, cocktails and non-alcoholic options.

8. Are you child friendly?

A: As we are family-owned, we have tried to ensure we have catered for children – there’s a kids menu, fun games and plenty of space to run and play. All we ask is that children remain supervised as we are also a working farm.

9. Where do your wines come from?

A: As our vines are currently not in a fit state for grape production, we are currently sourcing our fruit from a number of local vineyards and a couple further afield when required. We are however working very hard to restore the current vineyard and add to the acreage under vine in the very near future.

10. Can I have my wedding / engagement / 60th / Bah Mitzvah / 21st / work function at Phillip Island Winery?

A: Absolutely! We love throwing parties and have a range of options to suit any style or size of function. Please get in touch at functions@phillipislandwinery.com.au.
